Congress to look at 5-year transportation bill There appears to be some interest in compromising on infrastructure spending in Congress, according to these articles. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla. chairman of the Environment and Public Works committee, wants a five-year transportation bill and will ask senators to look at a variety of funding options, including a user fee. Bill Shuster, R-Pa., and chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure said, “I do believe there is an opportunity for both parties to find common ground on issues to strengthen our nation’s economy, such as infrastructure.”
